The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have begun their tour of Cornwall, paying a visit to Truro Cathedral and a youth centre yesterday.

They started the day speaking to members of the public at the Cathedral, with Prince William demonstrating his sense of humour - when one member of the public told him that he looks so much like his mother, his response was 'My mum was better looking.'

Later in the day, the couple visited the Zebs youth centre to talk to children about their future plans. 'Do any of you know what you would love to be? Do you have some aspirations?' Duchess Kate asked.

The Royals made sure to reassure the group that it was OK not to know exactly what you wanted to do. 'It is totally cool not to have that, by the way' William said, 'It took me an awfully long time to work out what I wanted to be.'

'It is so difficult because there's so much out there,' Kate added, 'It is hard, isn't it, to pinpoint one thing? William is right, I found it difficult as well.'

It seemed that the Duke and Duchess really reassured the children they spoke to. One student said: 'They are both higher class and stuff like that so it is just reassuring that we can do well as well. They just sounded very interested in everything. They do genuinely want to know what it is like.'

During the visit, Prince William revealed something that is not one of his talents. When asked if he wanted to go on the drums in the centre's music room, he responded: 'Absolutely not. I know where my strengths lie and it is definitely not a drum set.'

We can't imagine having a drum kid around two young children would be a great idea, so we totally understand where William is coming from with that one.
