Newlywed celeb pair Russell Brand and Katy Perry made their first public appearance as a married couple on the red carpet at the MTV Europe Music Awards last night, showing off their seriously sparkly matching gold wedding bands.

The pair tied the knot two weeks ago, in front of 80 close friends and family in a glittering Indian ceremony at the ultra-exclusive Arman-I-Khas resort, close to the Ranthambore Safari Park in rural Rajasthan.
And after days of celebration and a special Indian ceremony, the new Mr and Mrs Brand were spotted at Jaipur airport, boarding a swanky private jet ready to whisk them off to a remote, romantic location – reportedly the Maldives – for a luxurious honeymoon.
Now the loved-up pair are back on solid ground, and made their first appearance at the EMAs last night, staring lovingly into each other's eyes as they walked the red carpet.
Russell and Katy also gave us the first glimpse of their sparkly wedding rings showing off matching, glittering gold bands as they smiled for the cameras.
Donning a sparkly cinema ticket-style dress Katy took home the Best Video Award for California Gurls, and performed new hit Firework, dressed as - you guessed it - a firework.
Katy Tweeted her thanks to fans during the event, writing: Wanted to say thank you to all the wonderful people that voted for me last night @ the EMA's. #WERULE!’
