X Factor bosses could be in trouble after Ofcom received 2750 complaints about Christina Aguilera and Rihanna’s X-rated routines during the live final - and have now pledged to formally investigate the show. ALL THE PICTURES FROM CHRISTINA'S BURLESQUE PREMIERE
It's thought the saucy scenes - which saw Christina and her dancers appear in little more than stockings and underwear during their burlesque themed routine - may not have been suitable, and now the show could come under fire.
The regulator's code says that ‘children must be protected by appropriate scheduling from material that is unsuitable for them’.
Show bosses could also be accused of persuading people at home to download their guest performers’ tracks, reports The Metro.
Simon Cowell has been told by ITV bigwigs to make X Factor more family friendly and avoid any new scandals.
A source told The Mirror, 'Bosses are worried about the complaints which have grown rapidly this series.
