Nicole Kidman lined up to play Dusty Springfield
Nicole Kidman is set to star as Dusty Springfield in a new biopic of the singer's life.
The Australian star will team up again with Michael Cunningham, who scripted her Oscar-winning performance in 2002's The Hours.
The movie will chronicle the life of Springfield, best known for the fabulous classic Son of a Preacher Man, following her rise to fame in the Sixties, and also touching on her battles with alcoholism and mental illness.
Scriptwriter Cunningham says: 'It will be the real Dusty. A great artist who no one knew what to do with. But she is going into history with The Beatles and the Rolling Stones.'
