Mel B is being eyed up by X Factor bosses to replace Nicole Scherzinger if the US star bails, according to sources.
Former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger has still not signed up to the next series, prompting producers to have a back-up plan to avoid a scenario like last year when Dannii Minogue pulled out at the last minute, forcing them to draft in guest judges.
Nicole has reportedly been offered £1million to join the new-look panel- which also includes Sharon Osbourne, Gary Barlow and Louis Walsh- but is worried that the ITV show will clash with her new album that she will be promoting in Novemeber.
A source has revealed to The Sun: 'Nicole is causing some worry. Bosses want her after her success last year, but she doesn’t know if she can give all her energy to the show.
'Producers don’t want to be left in the lurch like last year so Mel is being lined up in case talks fail.'
