Cory Monteith joined Lea Michele at her Marie Claire Mexico shoot and editor-in-chief Ariadne Grant has spoken about the happy day on set
Lea Michele was joined by her boyfriend and co-star Cory Monteith on the set of her gorgeous Marie Claire Mexico shoot last month, the mag’s editor-in-chief has revealed.
The actress was treated to a surprise visit from Cory for the photo shoot at The Crescent Hotel in Beverly Hills last month, and it’s likely to have been one of the last times she saw him before he died of a heroin and alcohol overdose.
The cover featuring Lea – which is on sale on 30 July – has now been released, and shows the star looking totally stunning in a black blazer and a pair of black silk knickers – and very little else.
Marie Claire Mexico and Latin America Editor-in-Chief Ariadne Grant said: ‘Lea Michele arrived early with her beauty team and her agent and was always professional, dedicated and her experience was obvious on the photo shoot but showed another side of her personality, softer and more innocent, on the interview when she got all excited with some questions, she said she loved Mexico so much.
‘That side was even more evident when Cory showed up almost at the end of the session, she was very happy about him being there.’
Lea tweeted her excitement about being on the shoot on 7 June, telling her followers: ‘What an awesome shoot today! Such a pleasure gracing the cover of one of my fav mags! So excited for you guys to see! Xo.’
She also posted a picture of her lunch on the shoot, saying: ‘Today’s healthy lunch! #Tofu #Greens #MyboyfriendsEatingpizza #yum lol.’
Cory was found dead in his hotel rooming Vancouver just five weeks later. He was cremated in a private ceremony attended by just his close family and Lea on 16 July. Lea hasn’t been seen in public since his tragic death.
Talking about the shoot, Ariadne added: ‘Cory showed up in great spirits and was very nice to everybody there; he even took pictures with whoever asked for it. He just asked for a Coke and stayed there watching the shooting until it was done. They were both very nice and obviously happy and in love, we are very disrupted by the unfortunate and untimely events. Our thoughts are with Lea.’
We’re thinking of you too, Lea…
