Sometimes you get the feeling that a Hollywood star just doesn't buy into the world of red carpet glamour and so it is with Kristen Stewart.

The Twilight actress didn't seem interested in bejewelled gowns and immaculate make-up as she arrived at the Sundance Festival in Utah this weekend, instead she attended wearing a sensible coat, ripped skinny jeans, trainers and a hoodie.

This isn't exactly a shocking move for Stewart: last year she wore a dress teamed with baseball shoes to the MTV Movie Awards, and she's been sporting a mullet hairstyle for what seems like aeons.

It seems she's been inspired by a role in the film, The Runaways where she plays plays Joan Jett, one of the world's greatest female rock stars. In preparation for the role, the actress spent time with Jett and the rockstar's distinctive image - think plenty of leather, denim and thick black eyeliner - seems to have rubbed off.

Stewart has always had a tricky relationship with Hollywood glamour: last year she explained to Allure Magazine: 'I go outside, and I'm wearing a funky T-shirt and my hair is dirty, and people say, "What's wrong with her? She needs to invest in a hairbrush." I'm like, Don't you get it? I'm not that girl! I never was that girl. It's not like I was really clean-cut last year.'

We can understand that it's not much fun wearing a skimpy dress and high heels when you're wading through a foot of snow in Utah, but we hope she makes a little more effort for the Oscars ...
