Update...

Kendall Jenner has lifted her self-imposed Instagram ban, and is back on the photo sharing site. However, instead of celebrating her arrival back on the platform with a selfie, Kendall has decided to dedicate her reinstated account to that of photography and #aestheticgoals. See her new photo series, which we have titled 'shot by me', below.

After much speculation, Kendall Jenner has revealed the real reason she left Instagram, and it turns out it is the most relatable thing ever (that’s if you can every truly relate to a multi-million-dollar-making model and ‘influencer’.)

Speaking on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Kendall explained the very millennial reason behind The Deletion: ‘I just wanted a little bit of a break. I'm always on it’, Kendall said.

‘I feel like I would wake up in the morning and I would look at it first thing, I would go to bed and it was the last thing I would look at. I felt a little dependent on it.’

And yes, Kendall is well aware of the ridiculousness that a move so inherently banal (come on, it is only Instagram, after all), could cause such a frenzy online.

‘It's so crazy to me that it even became huge news like that. I guess I didn't expect it but I also took my Twitter off my phone. I didn't delete my Twitter entirely but I took the app off my phone so I had no idea anyone was even talking about it and I honestly didn't think anybody would care.’

But good news for all of us that are missing having our daily Kendall-life fix on Instagram, she hasn’t gone for good. ‘I’ll be back. I'll come back'.

Fab.

When it comes to social media domination, the Kardashian clan reigns supreme. They have collectively amassed millions of followers across ALL social platforms, and even have their own breed of emojis. And app. And they probably own some shares in Google, too.

However, after Kim Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint in Paris in October, resulting in over €6 million worth of jewellery stolen from her hotel room, the landscape surrounding the First Family of social media has started to change.

The shock robbery resulted in Kim taking a step back from social media (although she just broke her self-imposed ban) and it looks as though Kendall Jenner may have followed suit, with the 21-year-old model mysteriously disappearing from Instagram, in a move that has left her 68 million followers wondering WTF is going on.

OK, so Kendall’s Facebook and Twitter accounts are still up and running, but it was her Instagram page that was the most exciting follow. Let us take a moment to remember Kendall’s heart-hair picture that once won her the coveted award for having the most-liked Instagram picture in the world. Fantastic.

Khloe Kardashian called the robbery ‘a wake-up call’ for the family, with some detractors blaming the robbery on Kim’s predilection for documenting every life detail on her social platforms – because yes, you definitely deserve to be robbed at gunpoint if your Instagram game is getting too fresh.

Anyway, this new scaled back social world order may explain why Kendall has quietly left Instagram, or maybe she just likes toying with our emotions and has disappeared from the social platform because CBA.

Either way, Kendall, we would really like it if you came back now.
