Director of Rock of Ages film claims Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are 'still friends'

Tom Cruise may have been left blindsided by Katie Holmes' decision to file for divorce but according to a mutual friend, the couple 'still love each other.'

Rock of Ages director Adam Shankman, who worked with Cruise on his film earlier this year, has told Ryan Seacrest that the couple are holding up well in light of the high-profile shock split.

KATIE HOLMES GIVES INTERVIEW ONE DAY BEFORE DIVORCE

'They are doing great,' Adam said when asked how Katie and Tom were coping.

'They actually love each other so much and believe in each other, and I love them both and I wish them both well,' he added.

The former couple reached an out-of-court divorce settlement less than two weeks after their split and Katie has since been adapting to her new role as single mother to daughter Suri Cruise.
