And in today’s celebrity edition of Homes Under The Hammer, Katharine Hepburn’s Hollywood home from the 1930s is up for sale, with an asking price of $7.39 million.
The 4,984 square foot property, situated in the secluded Coldwater Canyon, Los Angeles, boats five bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms, all sprawled across a single storey. It’s the fanciest bungalow we’ve ever seen for sure.
The beautiful gardens and huge pool are surrounded by adorable little terrace set ups – the kind of place we’d like to think Katharine would sit back, relax and reflect on all those Oscar wins.
The home was Katharine’s first when she moved to Los Angeles in the Thirties, and she went on to win the most Best Actress Oscars ever, for Morning Glory (1933), Guess Who's Coming To Dinner (1967), The Lion in Winter (1968) and On Golden Pond (1981).
The silver screen queen died in June 2003 aged 96 and reports suggest that the house even holds some vintage Hollywood gossip – Katharine supposedly had secret affair with agent Leland Hayward here.
With white-washed masonry walls, beamed ceilings and outdoor feature fireplaces, the hacienda-style property is full of stunning character. Any takers?
