Josh Hartnett to sue the Mirror over sex claim
Josh Hartnett is all set to take the Daily Mirror to court after the newspaper alleged he had a ‘sexual dalliance’ in a public area of a London hotel.
The very unhappy chappy, who is set to star in a West End production of Rain Man, said through his lawyers that he is seeking damages for defamation – and a public apology.
The Mirror claimed that Hartnett, 30, was caught on CCTV engaging in sexual acts in the library of a Soho hotel.
But the enraged Pearl Harbour actor has denied the allegations, labelling them as ‘not only untrue but a complete fabrication’, said his legal representatives, who added that the claims were ‘defamatory and unsubstantiated’.
Hartnett is due to play Rain Man’s Charlie Bobbett – the role made famous by Tom Cruise in the 80s big screen version – at the Apollo Theatre from 19 September.
