New judge J-Lo refuses to let Ojani Noa audition
Jennifer Lopez has banned her ex husband Ojani Noa from auditioning for American Idol, just a day after being named as one of the new judges for season ten.
J-Lo and Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler will replace Simon Cowell and season nine’s guest judge slot when the show hits screens again - but the singer has stopped her first husband from entering the contest, reports The Mail.
Ojani, who was married to Jennifer from 1997 to 98, was hoping to sing one of his ex-wife’s songs if he managed to audition.
A source told the Chicago Sun Times: 'According to key Fox and Idol sources, Lopez has provided them with all kinds of information about her very estranged ex-hubby - including photos, detailed descriptions and even some recordings of him singing.
'As it turns out, Noa does have a very good voice reportedly good enough to qualify for the initial rounds of American Idol auditions. He can sing, that's for sure, but given his history with Lopez, he's not getting a showcase on American Idol.'
The pair have had a rocky history with J-Lo taking court action to try and stop Ojani from releasing a film based on his life – which was rumoured to include intimate footage of the couple.
