Sweeping the board on announcement day, the all-singing, all-dancing US hit show was put forward for gongs in a range of different top categories, including Outstanding Guest Actor, Outstanding Supporting Actress, and Outstanding Supporting Actor.
Lovely Matthew Morrison (that’s Mr Schester to you and me!) was put forward for Lead Actor, and Lea Michelle for Lead Actress.
The show has also been nominated for Best Comedy Series, but faces stiff competition from other comedy greats, including Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Office, Nurse Jackie, and three-time winner, 30 Rock.
Despite its stack of recommendations, Glee was pipped to the post in the nominations race by World War II miniseries, The Pacific, which features in a whopping 24 categories.
