The actress has been snapped on the Stockholm set with Daniel Craig, in her guise as Lisbeth Salander
As die hard fans of the ever-popular Stieg Larsson trilogy, we just had to share our first glimpse of the Hollywood film on-set action...
Daniel Craig was first snapped filming The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo last week, in guise as investigative journalist Mikael Blomkvist.
And keeping true to the phenomenally successful thriller, filming has been taking place in Uppsala and Stockholm in Sweden - the very same locations in which the story is set.
And with filming of the new Bond film still very much on hold for the time being, the actor has been free to lend his time to the David Fincher directed adaptation, set for release in December 2011.
But after the announcement back in August, that little known actress Rooney Mara had beaten off stiff competition from the likes of Emma Watson, Carey Mulligan and Kristen Stewart to land the coveted role of Lisbeth Salander, it was her inevitable grungy makeover that we couldn't wait to see...
Following in the footsteps of Noomi Rapace, who played the leading lady in the Swedish subtitled films, 25-year-old Rooney was spotted emerging from her trailer sporting new jet-black hair, Lisbeth's striking facial piercings, ripped jeans and old taped-up boots.
Both Rooney and Daniel have signed up to appear in the sequel titles which complete the Millennium trilogy: The Girl who Played with Fire, and The Girl who Kicked the Hornet's Nest.
