David Duchovny enters rehab centre for sex addiction

David Duchovny has entered a rehab centre after admitting he's addicted to sex.

The X Files actor released a statement to People magazine saying: 'I have voluntarily entered a facility for the treatment of sex addiction. I ask for respect and privacy for my wife and children as we deal with this situation as a family.'

In a strange case of life imitating art, Duchovny appeared in Sex and the City back in 2003 as a man who'd checked himself into rehab to help overcome personal problems.

The 48-year-old is married to fellow actor Téa Leoni, with whom he has two children, Madelaine West, nine, and six-year-old Kyd.
