Suited and booted, David Beckham took to the football field in his new role as ambassador to the Chinese Super League
David Beckham may have been suited and booted as he began his role as ambassador to the Chinese Super League in Beijing yesterday, but that didn’t stop him taking to the football field to show off his skills.
Despite his dapper dress, Becks marched straight onto the field during a visit to the Beijing Guo’an Soccer Club, to show off his fancy footwork.
Clad in a white shirt and sharp grey suit, Mr B also found time for a kick around with students at Shijiahutong Primary School, before sitting down to take part in a press conference.
And he seemed to be having a whale of a time!
His visit was part of a four-day trip to kick off his new footballing role, to help promote the game to children in China.
It’s thought his trip will include more training sessions with local children, as well as visits to football clubs in Qingdao and Wuhan.
‘I am helping in the education for young kids and young aspiring footballers,’ David Beckham said of his new role in a recent press conference.
‘It’s as simple as that. I am not here to clear up anything. I am here to educate the children and give them a chance of becoming professional footballers.’
