George Clooney may be married to the very stylish Amal Clooney, but it looks like the twosome are more than happy to see other people - especially if it's for a good cause. George caused a near riot in Edinburgh yesterday, when he flew into town to take one very lucky competition winner out on a date. Jealous? Us? Well, yes actually.
32-year-old wedding planner, Heather McGowan, won a date with the Hollywood star after donating £5 in an online competition to raise funds for the homeless. Admitting that it was 'the best £5 I think anyone has ever spent'.
George looked suave in a black turtleneck and suit as he treated the competition winner to beef carpaccio, seafood and chocolate fondant at the Tigerlily restaurant in Edinburgh. And despite being swarmed by media and people trying to catch a glimpse of the actor, Heather revealed that - unsurprisingly - George was the 'perfect gentleman' and 'just lovely.' *Sigh*
Although most of us would suffer brain freeze coming face to face with Mr Nespresso himself, Heather found the experience fairly breezy, explaining that they talked about American football and his wedding to Amal - not really first date conversation, is it George?
'It seems he had a load of involvement which is really refreshing because so many guys just hand it off to the bride and have no interest whatsoever,' Heather told the BBC. Although, when he was asked what napkin rings he wanted, she said he 'called it quits.' We feel you, George... When the A-list date was nearly over, Heather did what any sane woman would do...and tried to blag a second. 'He's at the Scottish Business Awards [later]...so I was like, 'Any chance I can come?' We'll see what happens there,' she joked.
Heather you're a woman after our own heart. Did her confidence impress the star? Who knows, but with a family of his own to go home to, we wouldn't hold our breath...
