Christian Bale to be cautioned over alleged family assault

Christian Bale is set to be cautioned by police over the alleged assault of his mum and sister - meaning he will avoid going to court.

The 34-year-old Dark Knight star allegedly 'pushed and shoved' mum Jenny, 61, and sister Sharon, 41, at a five-star hotel when they reportedly asked him for £100,000, according to the Sun.

Crown Prosecution Service lawyers have advised police to caution Bale, which will mean he will have to admit guilt when he answers bail next month.

If he refuses, police can still charge him, according to the paper.

The argument happened last month at the Dorchester Hotel on the Sunday night before the Monday British premiere of Bale's new Batman movie.

On the Tuesday he was arrested when he attended the Belgravia police station. He flew back to his LA home later that day but was told he must return to Britain to answer bail in September.

Christian denied all assault claims and described the issue as a 'deeply personal matter'.
