Richard and Judy's daughter banned from driving for 20 months

Chloe Madeley, daughter of Richard and Judy, has been handed a drink-driving ban after crashing her car while more than twice the legal limit.

The 22-year-old pleaded guilty to the drink-driving charges against her in court yesterday, however, claimed the reason she got in her car in the first place was that she 'urgently required the services of a 24-hour chemist in relation to female products'.

Chloe, who abandoned her Peugeot 206 after she knocked another car and overturned her vehicle, had apparently drunk two cocktails earlier in the evening of the incident. She must now pay a fine of £350 and has been banned from driving for 20 months.

'The bench takes into account this is your first ever offence. Nonetheless, it is a serious one of drink-driving,' Clive Lewisohn, chair of the bench at Hendon Magistrates' Court, said.

'The reading was a high reading and you exposed the public, including yourself, to considerable danger. There was an accident and thankfully no one was injured.

'We find that there is no mitigation whatsoever for you driving with excess alcohol on this occasion.'

Her barrister, Alex Radley, said: 'When the vehicle came to a halt, realising she was very close to her home address, she decided to walk round and call the police. She was about to call the police when they arrived on the doorstep. She feels dreadfully upset about what has happened.'
