The singer was conspicuously absent when the remaining four girls stepped out together at the Pride of Britain Awards
Do we spy a famous feud growing? Four members of Girls Aloud reunited on the red carpet at the glittering Pride of Britain Awards last night, but fifth band member Nadine Coyle was conspicuously absent.
The girls have so far denied a split in the band, but their appearance at the awards last night sans Nadine did nothing to dampen rumours of a bust-up.
Posing in pairs Cheryl Cole stepped out first with close pal Nicola Roberts, sparkling for the cameras, in a figure-hugging, floor length black dress.
Next Sarah Harding and Kimberley Walsh took their turn on the red carpet, donning show stopping coordinating gowns.
But Nadine was nowhere to be seen
Instead the sorry singer jetted out of the UK, attending a singing in Northern Ireland in an effort to boost sales of her single, which limped into the charts at number 26 over the weekend.
Despite attacking Cheryl for miming on the X Factor, yesterday the singer admitted she could never match up to her former band mate in terms of record sales, citing Simon Cowell as the reason she had done so well.
‘The truth is, I knew I could never take on Cheryl,’ Nadine told Star magazine.
‘She has all the power of the X Factor and Simon Cowell behind her. It’s a massive advantage.
‘I would totally love to have someone like Simon in my camp, who wouldn’t? He can make big things happen and he has the whole music business under his control.’
