It is rumoured that Cheryl may ask her wayward husband to buy her half of the £3.5 million 'Hurtmore House' mansion they share.
The news is not likely to please Ashley, who recently proclaimed: ‘My life has been ruined' - following the couple's split.
Friends of the footballer claim that although he's been spotted without his engagement ring, he's still clinging to the hope that his wife might take him back.
But with news of Cheryl's apparent plans to move out, it's looking less and less likely.
‘It's a real shame, because Cheryl loved that place,' says the source. ‘But her memories have been soured by what's gone on.'
