Brad Pitt is the first man to ever to front a campaign for Chanel’s iconic No. 5 perfume and the groundbreaking advert will debut this month.

The TV ad, shot by Atonement and Anna Karenina director Joe Wright, will air for the first time on 15 October.

Chanel are being very hush-hush about what the ad will entail but we do know that it features Brad talking to what seems like a woman – but is actually the perfume itself.

'To keep a legend fresh, you always have to change its point of view,' Chanel fragrance & beauty president Andrea d'Avack told WWD .

'We think very much that the perfume is a seduction between a man, a woman and the perfume' explained d'Avack. 'No.5 is our leading fragrance, and we are willing to make the investment to keep it on that level.'

Pitt is thought to have been paid $7 million (£4.32m) to front the campaign.

Other big names to be face of Chanel No. 5 include Nicole Kidman, Audrey Tautou and Vanessa Paradis.

We can't wait!
