Releasing a statement about his alcohol addiction, Ben wrote candidly about how he is currently trying to combat it, thanking his wife Jennifer, who he's been separated from since 2015, for her ongoing support.

As he describes this as 'the first of many steps being taken towards a positive recovery,' the world has shown their support for the actor and director by posting a hoard of messages that read similarly to this one: 'I am sure that I speak for millions of people when I say that you have taken honour and dignity to a new level. You have continued to show you're a good man, and good men struggle. It's what we do after we realise it that matters.'
