David Beckham fish fingers anyone?

Anyone for some David Beckham fish fingers? Um, thought not.

Yes, you can buy his pants, his perfume and even his razor blades, but until yesterday no one had thought about getting him to sell food.

Tesco has changed all that after agreeing to stock the footballer's new line of readymade meals, created in partnership with GO3.

Speaking yesterday at Wembley, David told reporters: 'As a Dad I know how hard it is to get kids to eat the right things.'

(And they we were thinking the Beckhams probably had a live-in chef to do that – or maybe they're too busy hawking things on eBay)

'GO3 is tasty food, kids can eat everyday but made healthier. I also know as a footballer, how important it is to eat the right things to perform well, so I think the GO3 range is a great way to help families take some small steps to be fit and healthy at affordable prices.'

So, apart from the fish fingers (25 million of which are landing in Tesco stores this morning - we kid you not), what exactly is Becks hoping to feed us?

Well, there's the Traditional Fish Pie, coming in at a very reasonable £2.29; Cheese and Tomato Omelettes, £1.29 for two; and a Bolognese Pasta Pot for £1.79.

Wonder if Victoria's tried any yet?
