The ultimate party perfume launches in Ibiza's hottest celebrity haunt

marie claire's beauty assistant Cassie Steer reveals the secrets behind this season's most hedonistic beauty launch, for Hed Kandi's first ever perfume, Eivissa. Read her insider account here:

Oh how the other half live….my paltry experience of the '24 hour Party Island' was when my (then) boyfriend and I resorted to smuggling out croissants from our decidedly unglamorous B&B in order to save enough money to sample the delights of Pascha for a night.

Fast-forward ten years and I am greeted at Ibiza Airport by a luxury Hummer – complete with blacked-out windows and personalised number-plate. So have my meagre wages quadrupled since my first, rather disappointing visit? Sadly not – this VIP pit-stop of Ibiza was courtesy of Hed Kandi who were returning to their spiritual home to celebrate the launch of their new Eivissa (Ibiza, in Catalan) fragrance. But that didn’t stop me from soaking up every minute of it!

We began our weekend by being whisked off by luxury speedboat (complete with ridiculously handsome captain) to the beautiful island of Formentera – Ibiza's smaller, relatively peaceful brother. There we headed straight for a beach restaurant that, although didn't look particularly exclusive, was definitely employing a 'who you know' policy and served the most amazing fresh fish – all cooked to perfection.

Funnily enough, I soon settled in to this jet-set life-style where champagne is perfectly acceptable before 12pm, and by the time we’d donned our party frocks and were on our way to the infamous El Divino club to celebrate the perfume launch, I was getting rather used to my door-to-door Hummer service!

I’d always wondered how celebrities manage to go out night after night with no obvious ill-effect – well it certainly helps when you get to hang-out on huge round beds at the exclusive Blue Marlin Beach Bar – our next stop the morning after. Feeling bleary-eyed and not very bushy-tailed from a (very) late night the evening before, we ended our trip chilling out in arguably Ibiza's coolest hang-out where the likes of Jade Jagger and Kate Moss have been spotted frolicking with the other impossibly glamorous people until late into the evening. Sadly, by 7pm (and a few delicious mojitos later!) reality beckoned, and our time was up.

The next day as I stepped out into torrential rain, I did have a pang for the life that could have been had I been born with talent/famous parents, but for now I will have to make-do with my photographs and Eivissa fragrance!
