  • Talk about supermodel selling-power...

Cara Delevingne’s supermodel selling-power seems to have reached an all-time high, as an incredible 12,000 people have already joined a waiting list to buy Yves Saint Laurent’s new ‘space age’ Fusion Foundation, of which she is the face.

YSL claim to have been inspired by Nasa scientists when developing the futuristic foundation (on sale on 10th August) as it contains lipophilic active, a microscopic material used to trap cosmic dust particles in space. The resulting foundation offers smooth, weightless, 24 hour protection and acts like a sponge to control skin’s moisture levels and prevent cakey effects.

‘Fusion Foundation is a ground-breaking response to modern demands for trustworthy, perfect coverage that lasts for up to 24 hours without compromising on texture,’ Caroline Negre, YSL’s scientific communications director said of the product, which will retail at £30.

‘This combination of active agents is a first for Yves Saint Laurent Beauté. Fusion Foundation contains a new blend of hydrophilic and lipophilic agents and tamanu oil.’

‘This hybrid technology means the volatile oils in the foundation evaporate quickly after application – leaving just the pigments and actives behind on the skin.’

So it seems high-tech beauty will soon be a reality for us all. What do you think of the idea? Are you joining the waiting list? Tweet us @marieclaireuk.
