Topshop has just served up the perfect trench coat

This weekend's heatwave aside, we are officially into trench coat season, and what a joy it is. If you're feeling adventurous enough to step away from your classic beige trench, then Topshop has the perfect one for you, and everyone's been swooning over it.

Entering the contrast vinyl trench, in this season's most covetable shade: olive. It's a steal at £79, and definitely looks much more luxe than its price tag.

It's already been backed by top fashion influencers such as Anna Vitiello and The Triplets and I am into it.

If you're not feeling the khaki colour though, don't worry, it's also available in black, and trust me when I say that The Matrix plays a big role in AW19's major trends.

Shop now: Contrast Vinyl Trench for £79 from Topshop

Wear it over a slip dress and with minimalist sandals for the heatwave, then with straight jeans and lace up boots for when it's colder.

Don't wait about for this one.

Penny grew up in France and studied languages and law at the Sorbonne Nouvelle University in Paris before moving to the UK for her MA in multimedia journalism at Bournemouth University. She moved to the UK permanently and has never looked back (though she does go back regularly to stock up on cheese and wine).

Although she's always loved fashion - she used to create scrapbooks of her favourite trends and looks, including Sienna Miller and Kate Moss' boho phase - her first job was at MoneySavingExpert.com, sourcing the best deals for everything from restaurants to designer sales.

However she quit after two years to follow her true passion, fashion journalism, and after many years of internships and freelance stints at magazines including Red, Cosmopolitan, Stylist and Good Housekeeping, landed her dream job as the Digital Fashion Editor at Marie Claire UK.

Her favourite part of the job is discovering new brands and meeting designers, and travelling the world to attend events and fashion shows. Seeing her first Chanel runway IRL at Paris Fashion Week was a true pinch-me moment.
