  • Marc By Marc Jacobs brought a cool, street style inspired edge to the runway at New York Fashion Week, February 2014

Marc By Marc Jacobs’ AW14 drop was certainly one for the kids, the cool kids at that.

Japanese school uniforms, motocross, karate attire and tutus inspired the collection, according to the label’s new creative director Katie Hillier and design director Luella Bartley, meaning its latest drop brought yet another wave of punk to the NYC catwalk.

Political statements such as ‘Twisted’, ‘Revolution’ and ‘Uprising’ were branded across shiny metallics and vibrant brights, styled up with 90s moon boots, long socks and pigtails.
Also scattered amidst the accessible pieces of Marc Jacobs’ diffusion line were baggy knits, over-sized layered skirts and school style blazers in more muted shades.
