We've rounded up the most beautiful couture gowns from Paris Haute Couture Week for your all your vicarious wedding planning pleasure
The Haute Couture shows took place across Paris and Rome last week, and while there were many talking points throughout the week, we were most excited by all the vicarious weddings we dreamed up looking at the incredible dresses.
Whether you’re a bride-to-be or just can’t resist a browse through jaw-dropping couture dresses, behold! We’ve got 30 of the prettiest dresses for you to drool over. The glamour bar was set high and with everything from vibrant Spanish-inspired gowns to bold, semi-sheer silhouettes, the runways certainly weren’t lacking in major dress-spiration.
This season, the top courtiers from Ralph & Russo to Giambattista Valli, gravitated towards soft details that create extra movement and fluidity; think 3D floral appliques and artful layering. As well as a return to tradition, there were plenty of bold plunging necklines and modern interpretations, such as the ‘LWD’ (little wedding dress).
Elie Saab made our day with his adormable seven mini-mes, fulfilling all our flower-girl Pinterest needs. Meanwhile, as the last Valentino show for Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli as a design duo (now that she has finally been announced as the new creative director of Dior), their sartorial swan song didn’t disappoint with it’s intricately embroidered, regal and column-esque gowns.
Designer Riccardo Tisci actually showed his Givenchy couture collection during the label’s men’s show, but we’ve included him here as he certainly didn’t deviate from the uber-feminine qualities that make his designs so sought after. Making her couture week debut, Alberta Ferretti’s bohemian brides were also some of our favourites; beach-bound brides take note.
