When it comes to stylish plus size clothing brands, there's no denying the fashion industry has come a long way, thouhg of course there is still more work to be done.

Many non-curve retailers have extended their sizing, and added 'plus size' tabs to their site to make it easier to navigate collections based on sizing, while search filters have also made things easier.

And of course, OG curve brands such as SimplyBe and The Hour have also refined their designs, bringing you a good mix of elevated basics as well as more trend-led pieces.

Thanks to models and style icons including Ashley Graham and Paloma Elsesser walking the shows at every fashion week, we're also slowly seeing designers create fashion-forward styles that aren't just catered towards size 6-8 women. Rihanna's Savage x Fenty shows prove that clothes can look beautiful on all sizes, shapes and ages.

So here are some plus size clothing brands to add to your shopping list in 2024.

Dia & Co

Nested within Dia & Co's site is 11 Honoré, offering luxury brands designed for women sizes 12 to 26. Think of Dia & Co and 11 Honoré as your one-stop shopping destination if you want to invest in designer labels including GANNI and Diane Von Furstenberg.

Reformation

We all know and love Reformation for its gorgeous summer dresses and well-cut jeans. Reformation's extended sizes selection goes up to a size UK28.

Mango

Formerly known as Violeta by Mango, this range can now be found on the Mango site under 'Plus Sizes' and these styles range from size 4 to 26.

The Hour

Focusing on 'confidence and identity, the brand is dedicated to creating contemporary plus size pieces that drape, frame and flatter the fuller figure' - The Hour is available in sizes 14-26 and features a covetable mix of wardrobe essentials from tailored jackets to dresses.

Marina Rinaldi

Part of the Italian Max Mara group, Marina Rinaldi specialises in high-end stylish curve clothing, in sizes 12 to 28. Shop here for the most amazing occasion wear and the occasional designer collaboration.

Savage x Fenty

Savage x Fenty by Rihanna celebrates fearlessness, confidence and inclusivity. You will not find a single boring lingerie piece on there. Plus, if you're searching for the best plus size clothing brands for activewear, Savage goes up to a size 22.

Simply Be

Simply Be has been ahead of the plus size fashion curve for quite a while, and is one of the brands with the most styles to shop from (1,000s of products last time we checked). Shop party dresses, checked blazers and more in sizes 12–32.

New Look

New Look's sizing goes up to a UK32 on most of its styles, which means you can shop the same trendy pieces as everyone else rather than having to go to a different section. But where New Look really wins is the wide fit shoes, which can be hard to come by elsewhere.

Marks & Spencer

We're a little obsessed with M&S's Curve collection, which includes trend-led pieces in sizes 18-32, carefully tailored as opposed to simply made bigger.

Tu Clothing

For affordable plus size clothing, head straight to Tu Clothing's Plus Size section (their petite selection is also great).

Rixo

After consulting with their plus-size customer base as well as curve influencers and editors, Rixo have expanded their sizes to a size 26. Perfect if you've always wanted to own one of their trademark printed, vintage-inspired dresses.

Universal Standard

Universal Standard is all about giving the option for elevated essentials for women size 14 to 32 and unsurprisingly everyone has gone crazy for this luxe basics line.

Yoek

Perfect for printed and embellished tunics, palazzo trousers and fun prints, Yoek is also known for its leather line.

ASOS Curve

The selection of clothing at ASOS Curve just gets better and better. First off there is ASOS' own range, which covers everything from casual staples to plus-size wedding guest dresses, and then there are all the other plus size brands the site stocks, which equals to over 100 brands and 4000+ styles.

River Island

River Island's plus section is a treasure trove of statement pieces. From throw-on floral dresses to denim jackets, there is a wide selection to choose from, for sizes 18-28.

Penny Goldstone

Penny Goldstone is the Digital Fashion Editor at Marie Claire, covering everything from catwalk trends to royal fashion and the latest high street and Instagram must-haves.

Penny grew up in France and studied languages and law at the Sorbonne Nouvelle University in Paris before moving to the UK for her MA in multimedia journalism at Bournemouth University. She moved to the UK permanently and has never looked back (though she does go back regularly to stock up on cheese and wine).

Although she's always loved fashion - she used to create scrapbooks of her favourite trends and looks, including Sienna Miller and Kate Moss' boho phase - her first job was at MoneySavingExpert.com, sourcing the best deals for everything from restaurants to designer sales.

However she quit after two years to follow her true passion, fashion journalism, and after many years of internships and freelance stints at magazines including Red, Cosmopolitan, Stylist and Good Housekeeping, landed her dream job as the Digital Fashion Editor at Marie Claire UK.

Her favourite part of the job is discovering new brands and meeting designers, and travelling the world to attend events and fashion shows. Seeing her first Chanel runway IRL at Paris Fashion Week was a true pinch-me moment.
