Jeremy Corbyn is set to appear on Gogglebox next week. He will feature in the hit Channel 4 TV programme alongside other 'mystery' guests to help raise awareness and money for Stand up to Cancer.

The Labour leader will give his opinion on a selection of the week’s most-watched TV shows alongside a 'mystery' celebrity who will join him on the sofa.

Other celebrities who have featured on the show include Steve Coogan, Anna Friel, Kate Moss and Olly Murs.

It is not yet known which shows will be dissected by Corbyn and it is not expected to be filmed at his own home. However, he has previously expressed a fondness for Eastenders and also revealed he watched Casualty on the eve of this year's Labour Party conference in Brighton.

This is not the first time he has appeared on an entertainment show on Channel 4. He has previously made an appearance on The Last Leg in which he arrived wearing white fur coat, apparently stepping out of a white Bentley sports car with the words “cor blimey” emblazoned across the number plate.

The celebrity special Gogglebox is on Channel 4, November 3 at 9pm
