We don’t know what to think about this.

Being a First Lady may seem inviting from the outside – designer wardrobe allowances, first class travel and personal chefs – but the job seems to have as many drawbacks as it does benefits, especially if you’re Melania Trump.

‘Melania can’t do anything,’ French first lady Brigitte Macron explained of FLOTUS’s life and the rules and restrictions that come with it, in a recent issue of Le Monde. ‘She can’t even open a window in the White House.’

This of course isn’t exclusive to the Trumps, with former First Lady Michelle Obama speaking out about the lack of privacy back when she and Barack were in office, but for Melania, it was reported that the rules aren’t restricted to window opening.

Last week the New York Times suggested that Melania isn’t even allowed to choose what TV she watches, after reports that the 48-year-old upset her husband when he caught her watching CNN.

Trump reportedly found out that Melania’s Air Force One television had been tuned into CNN, and there was speculation that this hadn’t gone down well in the White House.

According to a spokeswoman for the First Lady however, Melania can and will watch ‘any channel she wants’

‘Did you know that every 15 minutes a baby is born with NAS? Maybe you'd like to talk about the 160,000 kids who skip school every day for fear of being bullied, or that 280,000 students are physically attacked in schools every month,’ stated Stephanie Grisham, Whitehouse Director of Communications for the First Lady in response to the reports. ‘Seems kind of silly to worry about what channel she watches on TV (any channel she wants btw) or if she heard some recording on the news.’

Well, that’s that then. Maybe Melania will now become a regular SNL viewer?
