Wait, WHAT?

Wait, WHAT?

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom’s relationship has had us on our toes from the start.

After splitting in 2016, rumours started building that the couple could have rekindled their relationship, and sure enough, the Roar singer confirmed the news this year.

But the couple have not settled into a normal relationship, proving in the past few months that they are anything but predictable. There was the meeting with the pope, the viral comments and of course, the date buying that took place this week.

Confused? We'll talk you through it. As it turns out, it was all part of an auction.

Katy Perry surprised fans this week at the One Love Malibu charity show (supporting relief efforts from the Woodsley fire), when she outbid fans to buy a date with her boyfriend for $50,000.

'This man that I am dating and totally love and respect, he is literally a Malibu OG,' Katy is reported to have explained of her boyfriend while putting him up for auction, according to The Hollywood Reporter. 'That also means that when you are on the motorcycle with him you are holding him in a way that I am not excited about. You’re holding his pecs and his six-pack and it’s so glorious… you get to stare into his brown eyes, it’s gorgeous.'

Of course there were a lot of bidders, but after a fan called Laura bid $20,000 and it seemed that she had won, Katy had a change of heart, outbidding the fan by $30,000.

'Laura, I’m sorry. I’m buying it for $50,000,' she announced, followed by a mic drop and a swift exit from the stage to boos and cheers.

To be honest, if we were dating Orlando Bloom we probably wouldn't want him up for auction.
