It turns out being the Mother of Dragons is a good profession!!

Game of Thrones season eight is on its way – and we officially can’t wait.

Our past few months have been dominated by Game of Thrones news and updates, from the emergence of the teaser trailer to theories about what’s to come in Westeros.

But it wasn’t Sophie Turner confessing to being banned from washing her hair during filming and Kit Harrington taking one of his props as a momento or Maisie William talking about her final scene that had the world talking today.

Instead, it was Emilia Clarke, Daenerys Targaryen herself, who made news, after her net worth was supposedly revealed.

Spoiler alert - being the mother of Dragons seems to be a serious money spinner.

While it is expected that the GoT cast weren’t paid a huge amount until the later seasons, according to Deadline, Emilia was among the five who apparently negotiated their pay to £227,000 per episode. This was then reportedly upped to £378,000 for GoT’s final two seasons.

‘I get fucking paid the same as my guy friends,’ she told Vanity Fair. ‘We made sure of that.’

Throw in multiple hit film appearances and sponsorship deals with Dior jewellery and Dolce & Gabbana, and it’s safe to say that she’s doing OK.

In fact, according to Celebrity Net Worth, she is worth a cool £10 million.

Can we all be Mothers of Dragons please?
