Kate Moss, Kylie, Lily Allen and Naomi Campbell all donate dresses to charity auction

Hairstylist to the stars, James Brown, has enlisted a host of celebrity friends to help raise funds for Cancer Research UK.

Kate Moss, Sienna Miller, Lily Allen, Naomi Campbell and Kylie Minogue, to name a few, have all donated dresses that will be auctioned in aid of the charity.

Many of the pieces are instantly recognisable, such as the vintage gown that Moss has donated, which she wore to the opening of the V&A Golden Age of Couture exhibition last year. The supermodel famously ripped the dress during the course of the evening, and customised it on the spot, turning the full-length gown into a knee-length dress.

Lily Allen's donation is another memorable piece: the blue summer dress she wore on stage at the Concert for Diana last summer.

Thirteen pieces will be sold via an online auction, ending on 29 February, with further items being sold in person by James Brown at a silent auction, taking place at the Marylebone High Street Cancer Research shop on 29 February.

Commenting on the appeal, Brown said, 'I know first-hand the devastating effect cancer can have so I jumped at the chance to do something to help. If we all do something on 29 February, no matter how small, we can all help to make a big difference to Cancer Research UK.'

All funds will go towards Cancer Research UK's Make Today Count campaign. Learn more about the cause, and view all the auction lots at www.jamesbrownlondon.com/MTC.
