The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge raised the whopping sum during the course of an afternoon when they hosted a charity polo match at the Santa Barbara Polo Club in California.
With William and Kate a huge hit in the US, the event's guest-list read like a who's who of Hollywood, with stars including Jennifer Love Hewitt and Billy Zane paying thousands to secure a sought-after ticket.
And if rubbing shoulders with Kate Middleton and Prince William wasn't enough, it seems the A-list were more than happy to splash the cash during the day, too, pledging generous donations to the Duke and Duchess's cause.
According to the Express, most of the money raised by William and Kate's American polo day has been donated to a charitable foundation set up by Prince William and Prince Harry in the UK, while the remainder has gone to the club's training centre, to fund events for underprivileged children.
Santa Barbara Polo Club ambassador Glen Holden told the Express of Kate Middleton and Prince William's appearance: 'I am extremely proud of what we did. It was a wonderful event. We were proud to have the royal couple at the club and for them to do such work for a good cause and raise such goodwill for England and America.
'Everyone that interacted with the Duke and Duchess thought they were so thoughtful, caring and welcoming. They did a marvellous job and these charities are charities that Americans are very much in favour of.'
Co-organiser Geannie Sheller said: 'That is something we would like to see. It has been talked about.'
