The 15-foot billboard collapsed on Oxford Street yesterday
Four shoppers were injured on Oxford Street yesterday, when a giant billboard bearing the face of Kate Moss collapsed on top of them.
The 15-foot wooden billboard advertisement, featuring shots from Ms Moss’s campaign for Mango, toppled down during peak time at the shopping destination yesterday afternoon.
Shocked passers by posted pictures of the scene, which showed a crowd of police officers struggling to keep the sign in place.
It’s thought two women and a man were taken to hospital, while a handful of other onlookers suffered injuries.
‘Police carriers backed on to the hoarding to support it while efforts were made by workmen to secure it,’ a Police spokesman said of the incident, which saw much of the street cordoned off.
‘It was the kind of hoarding that surrounds a shop when it is being refurbished.’
