Kelly Osbourne: 'I would have died' without rehab
Kelly Osbourne has spoken for the first time on her recent stint in rehab, revealing that she’d been addicted to painkillers for over ten years.
Speaking to People, the rock offspring has finally revealed the reason why she checked herself into a facility in January, stating that she’s had a painkiller addiction since she was 13-years-old.
Describing the start of her drug issues, she said, ‘I had my tonsils taken out (at age 13), and they gave me liquid Vicodin.
‘I found, when I take this, people like me. I’m having fun, I’m not getting picked on. It became a confidence thing.’
Kelly first entered rehab in 2004, followed by a second stint in 2005. However, the TV star revealed it was third time lucky, and that only now is she clean.
She checked herself into a clinic outside LA in January, after suffering an ‘intense relapse.’
‘I knew if I didn’t get help, I would die‘ she said. ‘I’m getting a second chance, and I want to be present for it.’
