So grown up
Can you believe it’s been over 10 years since the final episode of Friends aired on our TV screens? Not to try and add to the age crisis you’re now probably experiencing, but the child actors of Friends have grown up A LOT in the 13 years since we said goodbye to the gang.
Fans of Friends will recall that Ross was the first of the bunch to become a dad after his ex-partner Carol gave birth to their son, Ben. But did you know that baby Ben was in fact played by TWO rather famous twins throughout the show? Ross later went on to have a second child with Rachel (who could forget that love story?) and it turns out Emma Geller-Green was also played by a set of twins, and you won’t believe just how grown up they are these days. We were also recently shocked to discover what Phoebe’s triplets look like today, it’s safe to say the child cast of everyone’s favourite TV show have definitely grown up.
The younger cast of Friends aren’t the only child actors who have grown up a lot since their rise to fame, either. The actress who played Matilda in the 1996 movie of the same name looks SO different today, although you can still see the resemblance.
You’ll never guess what Miranda and Steve’s baby Brady from Sex and the City looks like now (or what he recently revealed about our favourite TV show in a recent interview). And we bet you won’t even recognise what Juanita Solis from Desperate Housewives now.
Our favourite TV child actors aren’t the only ones who have grown up on the camera. Remember nervous little Neville Longbottom from Harry Potter? With his red chubby cheeks, wonky teeth and nervous stammer? Well what if we told you that Matthew Lewis has grown up to become one of the biggest heart-throbs walking the planet?
How about Hermione? Sure, we all know that at the end of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part Two her and Ron FINALLY got together (better late than never). And die hard fans of the franchise will be able to find out what everyone’s favourite couple are up to 19 years later, in J K Rowling’s play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. But what about Emma Watson? As it turns out, she has more in common with her on screen persona than you might think.
Speaking of Hermione, whatever happened to her first love? The dishy Durmstrang Viktor Krum who popped up in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Would you believe he’s now 31? And looking COMPLETELY different?
Scroll through the gallery below to find out the answer to all of these questions and find out what your other favourite child actors are up to these days…
The scene that made you forever associate the song Send Me On My Way with making pancakes, Sara Magdalin, aka four-year-old Matilda, looks SO different 20 years later…
Here’s Sara more than 20 years on from the film’s 1996 release, looking VERY different – although you can still see the resemblance if you look closely, can’t you?
Twins Cali and Noelle Sheldon played Ross and Rachel’s baby Emma Geller-Green on Friends back in 2004 (yes, it’s been that long). But where are they now?
Would you believe that Cali Noelle Sheldon are now 14 years old? Although the two have both continued to star in a series of TV shows and short films, they both have ambitions outside of the big screen.
Cali recently revealed to Bustle that she wants to ‘go to UCLA and get a degree in biochemistry so I can become a chemist and cure cancer. Then I want to petition for women to be allowed into a football league. Then I’m going to write a book.’
Ross and Rachel would be so proud.
Most people recognise Dylan and Cole Sprouse for playing Zack and Cody in Disney’s Suite Life of Zack & Cody. But did you know they also played Ben Geller in Friends? Mind. Blown.
Dylan and Cole both put their acting careers on hold to attend New York University between 2011-2015. Both have confirmed they still wish to pursue a career in front of the camera.
Madison De La Garza isn’t only the half sister of Demi Lovato. She also starred as Eva Longoria’s daughter Juanita Solis in Desperate Housewives from 2008.
Now aged 14 the young actress is growing quite the Instagram following, often posting to campaign for the prevention of bullying and other worthy causes.
We all slightly envied Cora Cartwell for being Jack Dawson’s ‘best girl’ in Titanic. But where is she almost twenty years on?
Alex is now in her mid-20s and still in living in LA and working as actress.
In a recent interview with BuzzFeed she revealed that Leo used to entertain between takes on the set of Titanic and order her peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Not that we’re jealous. Not at all.
Joseph Pupo melted hearts up and down the nation when he portrayed the role of Brady Hobbes in Sex and the City from 2008.
Joseph was last seen in the 2010 Sex and the City Movie, and it’s fair to say he’s grown up quite a lot since then. Joseph recently took part in a video interview with YouTube stars Sas Goldberg and Jake Wilson, where it emerged that he’s never even watched everyone’s favourite show. We imagine Miranda would not be pleased.
Lulu played Karen and Harry’s daughter, aka the First Lobster, in Love Actually back in 2003 when she was 13.
We can’t quite believe it’s been 13 years since Love Actually was released – Lulu is now 26.
Hey now! Hey now! What ever happened to Paolo, the hot Italian singer (or so we thought) who swept Lizzie off her feet when she went to Rome?
Yes, that’s right! Yani Gellman only went on to play police officer Garrett Reynolds in popular TV show Pretty Little Liars.
Between 2003 and 2012, One Tree Hill had us all glued to our TV screens. Fans of the show will remember Jackson Brundage arriving on the scene in 2008 as Nathan and Hayley’s adorable son, Jamie Lucas Scott. But what’s he up to now?
Minds of OTH fans were recently blown when James Lafferty shared this beyond cute snap of him and his on-screen son on Instagram. Jackson is now 15 YEARS OLD and we can’t get over how grown up he looks since the days of psycho nannies and evil grandpas. Also is anyone else slightly freaked out by how much James and Jackson do actually look like each other?
Alexa Vega and Daryl Sabara flew onto our screens as Carmen and Juni Cortez back in 2002. But where are our favourite spy kids today?
Alexa married actor and singer Carlos Pena Jr in 2014 and earlier this year the couple announced that they are expecting their first child, a baby boy. Since Spy Kids the now 28-years-old actress appeared in a number of other projects, including the popular American TV show Nashville.
Daryl Sabara has appeared in a number of films and television shows, including Wizards of Waverly Place, The Polar Express and guest starring as a judge on American’s Most Talented Kids.
Abigail Breslin found her claim to fame when she appeared alongside Mel Gibson in the 2002 Sci-Fi Mystery, Signs. In 2006 Abigail starred in Little Miss Sunshine, and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
Now 20, Abigail has landed her first regular television series role as she portrays Chanel #5. She is also due to star as Baby in the TV Movie remake of Dirty Dancing.
In 2001 Emma Watson shot to fame as everyone’s favourite witch after she was cast for the role of Hermione Granger in the infamous Harry Potter movie series.
In 2014 Emma was appointed as a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador, and is often seen campaigning for gender equality as part of the HeForShe campaign she helped launch. Since Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part Two, Emma has also graduated from Brown University and starred in a number of other titles, including The Perks of Being a Wallflower and The Bling Ring.
Good old Neville Longbottom went on to prove that puberty can be kind to all, and Matthew has cemented himself as one of the biggest heart-throbs out there.
Matthew Lewis starred alongside Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson as fellow Gryffindor student Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter series.
As any hardcore Potterhead will know, Alfred Enoch starred through the Harry Potter series as Dean Thomas. Dean was a fellow Gryffindor alongside Harry, Ron and Hermione and known largely for being best buds with Seamus Finnigan.
We think it’s safe to say Alfred has come along way since portraying the 11-year-old wizard. The 27-year-old actor is now starring in popular TV series, How To Get Away With Murder.
Alfred isn’t the only Potter star who’s now and then transformation has left us swooning, just wait until you see Neville Longbottom…
Stanislav Ianevski is known for playing the role of Viktor Krum in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
11 years after Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and it’s safe to say Victor Krum is all grown up. The minds of fans all over the globe were blown when this photo of Stanislav appeared on Instagram. What would Hermione say?
Freddie Highmore rose to fame in 2004 after he starred in Finding Neverland and Five Children and It. Just a year later he was offered the role of Charlie in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, alongside Johnny Depp.
Now 24, Freddie has most recently been seen playing Norman Bates in the drama-thriller series Bates Motel. He also starred alongside Emma Roberts in 2011’s The Art of Getting By.
English actor William Moseley is best known for his role as Peter Pevensie in 2005’s The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe, which also starred Tilda Swinton, James McAvoy and Liam Neeson.

Who knew that before she was Gossip Girl’s Jenny Humphrey, Taylor played little Cindy Lou Who in Dr Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas.
These days Taylor is the lead singer and frontwoman for rock band The Pretty Reckless.
Who doesn’t know Macaulay Culkin for his role of bratty 8-year-old Kevin McCallister in the iconic Christmas film, Home Alone? Macaulay went on to star in Uncle Buck, My Girl and The Good Son, to name a few.
These days Macaulay is dating his former All My Children co-star, following his break up with Mila Kunis.
