Danish-born Helena Christensen is one of the world's most successful supermodels. Winning the title of Miss Denmark at the age of 18 prompted the ambitious brunette to go in search of a modelling career in Paris - and she never looked back.

Fronting campaigns for the likes of lingerie giant, Victoria's Secret, and with hundreds of high-profile fashion magazine shoots under her belt, Helena was seen as the It model of the Nineties and, at 38, is still a sought-after face today.

Helena's love life has been nearly as colourful as her career. She once lived with the late INXS frontman, Michael Hutchence, who famously broke her heart when he left her for Paula Yates. She has one son, eight-year-old Mingus Luchien Reedus, with former model Norman Reedus; the pair split in 2003. She has also been romantically linked to Leonardo DiCaprio and Heath Ledger, and is currently dating Interpol frontman, Paul Banks.

She splits her time between her homes in Monaco, Copenhagen and Manhattan, where she owns a fashion boutique store that the NY cool set just can't get enough of.
