    And it's seriously inspiring

In a hugely important move for art and for feminism, Australian photographer Amy Herrmann captured 100 different women in lingerie as a part of her Underneath We Are Women campaign, and it’s *truly* incredible. According to Cosmo UK, Herrmann began the project 12 months ago as a way to illustrate one simple point: All women are beautiful, and women are more than their bodies. In a world where the more body positivity, the better, Herrmann’s photo project is absolutely fantastic, and we hope to see more projects like this happen.

Herrmann is so proud of the resulting photo project.

“What a year!!! I promise I’ll keep this short… Firstly, thank you to everyone that has supported this project, myself, the women involved and of course each other throughout this journey so far,” Herrmann wrote. “We still have some way to go but it’s going to be one heck of a ride and I can’t wait to get back out there photographing, hanging and connecting with more amazing women. We really have formed such an incredible little community amongst us.”

Here are a few of our favourite shots from the series!

    1. This smiling stunner

“As much confidence as I may exude and portray to the world in my everyday life, the reality is I’ve harboured quite strong feelings of resentment toward my own body for a lot of my life. Feelings, I think, which are a reflection of society’s deeply internalised attitude towards the disabled body; that it is unattractive, undesirable, shameful, broken and that it should be changed, fixed or covered up.”

    2. This total beauty

“After I had my surgery I was never really self conscious of the scar, it was just a reminder of what I had been through… I don’t want it to fade… I always want this reminder of how amazing my body and mind really are.”

“Whether you have reached your body goals or you are still on your journey there, it is important to remember that self love and self confidence in your mind AND body are key to achieving your goals. Know that you are important and trust in your body to take you where you need to be. Just remember that our bodies are incredible machines, capable of amazing things and no two bodies function, nor look the same in their journey to reaching their goals!”

    4. This badass lady

    Seriously SO fierce.
