You Can Now Add A Light Saber To Your Facebook Profile Picture

This is what dreams are made of

Facebook knows us so well - how did it know that what we need most of all, rather than constant revamps of the news feed, is the option to add a light saber to our profile picture?

The official Star Wars Facebook page invites fans of the galaxy far, far away to do so, writing simply: 'Awaken the Force within by adding Finn's lightsaber to your profile picture.'

Well, all right then, if you insist.

It's pretty simple, too - all you have to do is press 'try it' and choose between an icy blue light saber - the colour of the Jedi - or a glowing red one, the colour of the Sith. Easy peasy.

And if you're only doing this in anticipation of the movie, and you'll be over Star Wars mania soon enough, you can also set the option to disappear whenever you like.

Star Wars mania has been hitting us all hard - last night, the stars stepped out for the world premiere of The Force Awakens, with celebrities including Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Lupita Nyong'o and Sofia Vergara stepping out in fan outfits.

Leading stars Daisy Ridley and John Boyega also impressed as they posed for pictures on the red carpet alongside co-stars Oscar Isaac, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher.

In case you haven't seen the trailer yet, you can watch it here... as well as finding out some of our most burning Star Wars questions.

And if showing your fandom on your profile picture isn't enough, why not head right this way and purchase some designer Star Wars gear - all for charity?
