Posh works Sixties chic as she shops in New York

Victoria Beckham took her style notes from the Sixties yesterday when she stepped out in New York wearing a kick-out A-line skirt and tight sweater combination.

The stylista hit Chelsea for a spot of shopping dressed head-to-toe in a charcoal ensemble, attempting to provide some much-needed curves and wearing the obligatory oversized shades – despite the rain.

Completing Posh’s retro style, the star added a cherry pair of Louboutin heels and a Birkin red and cream handbag, providing a pop of colour to the otherwise demure guise.

While the star left her bling accessories behind, she couldn’t resist a flash of jewels, this time in the form of a hair slide, encrusted with floral-shaped diamonds.

Following Monday night’s most fashionable annual party, The MET Ball, at which Posh graced the red carpet in a micro-mini Marc Jacobs polka dot dress, our only quibble with her latest look is the rather transparent jersey; Victoria, we can see your bra and in the world of fashion, that’s the ultimate faux pas.
