Or how to look more Parisian

Remember when we first told you about the launch of 24 Sèvres and how it was going to help make us look Parisian? Well the online version of Le Bon Marché’s quintessentially Parisian shopping experience is going the extra mile to make our looks more French.

Why? Thanks to its current key edit of the Proenza Schouler AW17 2017 collection, shown in their inaugural Paris show during Haute Couture Fashion Week. The site’s Head of Buying, Maud Barrionuevo, shares the top three pieces every woman should add to their wardrobe.

'I love this skirt because of its versatility. It was spotted on Caroline de Maigret outside Proenza Schouler’s first Parisian show earlier this month; she had dressed it up with a leather bomber and heeled boots. I look forward to pairing it with flat mules or Zespa trainers and a classic white tee for a casual evening look this summer. The way it twirls, too, is stunning.'

Proenza Schouler wrap leather dress

'This piece caught my attention when it came down the FW17 runway, and it’s still a firm favourite. It may look intimidating, but the leather is incredibly soft, and the structure of the garment means it requires nothing else; throw on a great pair of shoes and you’re good to go! My favourite part? The subtle detailing of the rose gold hardware on the belt: it makes the dress feels edgy but still feminine.'

Proenza Schouler straight leather trousers

'The high-impact of these trousers means they’re surprisingly low maintenance to style. I pair them with a tucked-in tee during the day at the office, and a cropped asymmetrical top (also from our exclusive Proenza Schouler avant-première edit) for an evening out. The double leather is more trend-driven, and elevates the look.'

Penny Goldstone

Penny Goldstone is the Digital Fashion Editor at Marie Claire, covering everything from catwalk trends to royal fashion and the latest high street and Instagram must-haves.

Penny grew up in France and studied languages and law at the Sorbonne Nouvelle University in Paris before moving to the UK for her MA in multimedia journalism at Bournemouth University. She moved to the UK permanently and has never looked back (though she does go back regularly to stock up on cheese and wine).

Although she's always loved fashion - she used to create scrapbooks of her favourite trends and looks, including Sienna Miller and Kate Moss' boho phase - her first job was at MoneySavingExpert.com, sourcing the best deals for everything from restaurants to designer sales.

However she quit after two years to follow her true passion, fashion journalism, and after many years of internships and freelance stints at magazines including Red, Cosmopolitan, Stylist and Good Housekeeping, landed her dream job as the Digital Fashion Editor at Marie Claire UK.

Her favourite part of the job is discovering new brands and meeting designers, and travelling the world to attend events and fashion shows. Seeing her first Chanel runway IRL at Paris Fashion Week was a true pinch-me moment.
