People are really into these dressy PJs and we are here for it

Really, who wants to dress up in January? If I could, I'd spend my days in PJs, because I just can't be dealing with layering or bare legs, and it certainly seems I'm not the only one, judging by my Instagram feed.

Apparently, the solution to January party dressing is chic nightwear, and I am really, really here for it.

In particular, I have seen many of my fashion editor friends and influencers (and even Brie Larson is getting in on the action) wearing a silk pyjama set by Sleeper.

It features a classic shirt with button down mother of pearl buttons, but the best bit about it is the marabou feathers lining the hem of the wide leg trousers - so decadent 50s housewife.

Whether you're staying in or going out, it just ticks all the right boxes. Wear it with a kitten mule or 70s velvet platform to go out, or a simple satin slipper to stay in.

The pyjama set comes in several colours, including all black which has been the most popular version, but I really like the retro aspect of the powder blue with red piping and white feathers, or the terracota as seen on Eva Chen.

Now off I go to live my best PJ life.

Penny Goldstone

Penny Goldstone is the Digital Fashion Editor at Marie Claire, covering everything from catwalk trends to royal fashion and the latest high street and Instagram must-haves.

Penny grew up in France and studied languages and law at the Sorbonne Nouvelle University in Paris before moving to the UK for her MA in multimedia journalism at Bournemouth University. She moved to the UK permanently and has never looked back (though she does go back regularly to stock up on cheese and wine).

Although she's always loved fashion - she used to create scrapbooks of her favourite trends and looks, including Sienna Miller and Kate Moss' boho phase - her first job was at MoneySavingExpert.com, sourcing the best deals for everything from restaurants to designer sales.

However she quit after two years to follow her true passion, fashion journalism, and after many years of internships and freelance stints at magazines including Red, Cosmopolitan, Stylist and Good Housekeeping, landed her dream job as the Digital Fashion Editor at Marie Claire UK.

Her favourite part of the job is discovering new brands and meeting designers, and travelling the world to attend events and fashion shows. Seeing her first Chanel runway IRL at Paris Fashion Week was a true pinch-me moment.
