Angelina Jolie, Cate Blanchett and Jessica Biel all rocked gorgeous glittering gowns on the red carpet

As expected, the Oscars red carpet brought a wide range of fashion eye-candy - but it seems a few actresses had the same idea when it came to choosing their gowns.

Nude sparkly dresses dominated the red carpet on Sunday night, with Jenna Dewan-Tatum, Jessica Biel, Cate Blanchett, Angelina Jolie, Sally Hawkins and Julie Delpy all rocking the stand-out trend.

New mum Jenna Dewan-Tatum showed off her post-baby body in a romantic Reem Acra gown.

Mrs. Timberlake stunned in a metallic Oscar de la Renta column dress.

Best Actress winner Cate Blanchett chose a Armani Prive gown decked out with Swarovski crystals for her big night.

Angelina turned heads in a dazzling Elie Saab dress.

Best Supporting Actress nominee Sally Hawkins looked chic and sophisticated in embroidered Valentino.

And Julie Delpy - a nominee for Best Writing (Adapted Screenplay) for Before Midnight - turned heads in a glittering Jenny Packham dress.

Overall, these dazzling ladies proved they didn't need a bold pop of colour to make a stunning statement.
