Want to make an impact this party season? Look no further than the A-list...

Whether it’s drinks in the office, dinner with friends or partying the night away on the dancefloor, Christmas party season is in full swing and a suitably celebratory wardrobe is needed. So what do we do in times of dressing crisis? Look to the A-list, of course.

This weekend’s red carpet events and premieres were awash with wonderful dresses and styling tips aplenty. And if there’s one thing we’ve learnt, it’s that skewing the LBD in favour of something more bold, off-beat or even tactile is the way to go.

Here’s three alternative party season looks we can’t wait to steal…

Rose Byrne Take your cue from Rose Byrne at the Annie premiere and invest in a bold and bright cocktail dress. Just because it’s winter doesn’t mean you can’t wear summery colours, so make like Rose whose styled her Mary Katrantzou SS15 multi-coloured embroidered lace dress with sheer opaque tights for a winter-meets-summer spin. We say go bold or go home…

Keira Knightley With metallic floral appliqués and a marabou trim - what’s not to love about Keira Knightley’s off-beat Simone Rocha dress? Not only is it feminine, but the tactile vibe is bang on-trend for the season and just goes to show that choosing something a little different to the expected can really pay off come party season…

Sophie Hunter

The future Mrs Cumberbatch stole the spotlight from her actor other-half at the Moet British Independent Film Awards in this high collared Emilia Wickstead dress. The sexy leather was given a more grown-up, prim and propper spin thanks to its high neckline and mid-length pleated skirt. Theatre Director Sophie added an eveningwear-appropriate spin in the form of black courts with gold-ware trim and a glinting black and gold embellished box bag. The perfect combination of elegant and edgy if you ask us.

With Alexa Chung wearing not one but two of her dresses to the British Fashion Awards, Emilia Wickstead is proving to be a seriously in-demand designer amongst the A-list. Can we expect to see a Wickstead number pop up in Kate’s New York wardrobe?
