'It was pure torture'

After eight magical years, Desperate Housewives left our screens in 2012 - leaving a Wisteria Lane shaped hole in our hearts - and we’re still not over it.

Yes, it may have been almost a decade since Susan, Gabrielle, Bree and Lynette made their last appearances but it still feels like it was yesterday.

We’re still deeply invested in Mike and Susan’s relationship, we’ve never given up hope on Edie coming back to life and are we the only ones who still can’t believe that Juanita Solis is played by Demi Lovato’s half-sister?

But it wasn’t Madison Lee De La Garza that propelled Desperate Housewives back into the spotlight this weekend, instead it was the actress of her character’s onscreen mother, Eva Longoria, who opened up recently about being bullied on set.

Yes, really. The 44-year-old actress restarted rumours of fallouts and feuds on the DH set, as she spoke out about the behind the scenes bullying, making a statement in support of her friend Felicity Huffman.

Felicity is facing potential jail time for her involvement in the college admissions scandal, and Eva Longoria’s comments were in defence of her friend’s character.

‘There was a time I was being bullied at work by a co-worker,’ Eva explained in a letter in support of her friend, choosing not to name the co-star in question that had been abusive.

‘I dreaded the days I had to work with that person because it was pure torture. Until one day, Felicity told the bully “enough”, and it all stopped. Felicity could feel that I was riddled with anxiety even though I never complained or mentioned the abuse to anyone.’

Well, that’s that.
