The beauty of Kate Winslet captured.
Kate Winslet is Marie Claire’s dazzling November cover girl. And, to help capture just how beautiful she is, we bring you a behind the scenes video of the actress during our photo shoot in London.
We teamed up with Lancôme on the shoot and so, naturally, conversation turned to all things beauty, and what Kate had to say was refreshingly honest and, above all things, normal.
How can you not love an A-list actress who admits that she sometimes wakes up looking as if she’s ‘spent a few hours in the ring’ and who gets bored of people referring to her ‘dewy’ skin, when, in reality, it can be anything but.
‘I had a terrible bout of acne after I turned 30, she tells us. ‘I kept reading about my sodding dewy complexion and thinking, “Oh shit, look at me, I’m covered in bloody spots, proper cystic bumps, if only they knew…”‘
On the topic of diets, more specifically Hollywood diets, Kate doesn’t hold back. ‘Whenever I go to LA the make-up artist or hairdresser will end up having a conversation about how fat they think they are and I really just can’t take it seriously at all,’ she says.
‘I’m just like, “Yeah, you’re right, you look gigantic, you need to lay off those bolied bits of chicken you’ve been eating because have you seen your arse?” And they’re the size of a blinking pin. I’m no stranger to the occasional dodgy juice, but it doesn’t taste very nice and it is bloody boring. It’s not a way to live.’
We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.
