New York Fashion Week: The Highlights

  • Our beauty editor braved New York’s worst freeze in two decades to report on the AW15 trends as they happened. Here are her favourite moments.

New York, I love you – though I love you slightly less when the frostbite sets in. Yes, the Big Apple was freezing (literally) but boy were there some great shows.

    Herve Leger
TRESemmé ambassador Orlando Pita crafted this amazing double twist boyish ‘do and he made it look effortless in the process. There are a few things happening here: a side parting, a slightly elevated quiff at the front, dual textures and, of course, two twists.

    Carolina Herrera

What’s not to love about this make-up look? It debuts a new MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lip Color in Oh, Lady (available later this year) and it uses glitter on the lashes to suggest droplets of water. Just beautiful.

If I’m honest, I didn’t think they could top last season’s studded brow, but make-up artist James Kaliardos pulled it out of the bag. His assistant spent Valentine’s Day meticulously gluing strands of Swarovski crystals together to create the fine strips of bling you see here.

    3.1 Phillip Lim
What can I say? I’m a sucker for a red lip. Make-up artist Francelle Daly used NARS VIP Red Lipstick (out later this year) to give a stark contrast against stripped-back skin.
